Mike Miller has been the President of MSC united for the last 9 years. He started with MSC United as a coach and took a role on the board a short time later. His vision is to provide the best opportunity for players of all ages and abilities to experience the great game. His mantra, “Train every player that comes through the gates” is his driving force for working with young soccer players. He currently coaches the 07 and 04 girls with MSC United, he is the Varsity coach at Red Mountain High school and is the Men’s and Womens’ head coach at South Mountain Community College. Mike has been married to Shannon Miller for over 19 years and has 3 boys, Michael, Zachary and Malachi, all of whom have grown up playing with MSC United.
Mike Fessenden has been an integral part of the MSC United family since 2010. For the past five years, he has served on the Executive Board as Treasurer. Mike devotes a considerable amount of time with the club’s uniforms and relationship with both Adidas and Soccer.com. Mike hopes to continue promoting and building MSC United into a premier soccer club not only in the valley, but also at the state and national level. His son plays on the ’01 Boys team.
Jim Gowdy oversees MSC United’s marketing efforts. Strategic initiatives within the club’s marketing plan include the development of a revamped website, active presence on social media, and improved communication systems with families and youth soccer community. Dr. Gowdy is also the Director of Athletics at Red Mountain High School.
Jessica Gaa was raised in Mesa. After living in North Dakota from 2009 thru 2015, she moved back to Mesa with her family. Her two sons found a passion for club soccer in North Dakota and want to continue their soccer dreamed in Arizona. Jessica’s family has been part of MSC United for two years and this is her first year serving as a Board Member. Her family joined the club because of the talented and compassionate coaching staff. Jessica is proud to assist MSC United’s goal of being the east valley’s leader in youth soccer programs.
Deb Howard has served on MSC United’s Board of Directors for two years. Her children have played with the club for eight years. As a fifth grade teacher in Mesa Public Schools at Patterson Elementary, Deb experiences first-hand the impact sports have on children both in and out of the classroom. Her responsibilities as a Board Member include organizing club and community events such as MSC United’s annual Banquet and Spirit Night. Deb’s goals for the upcoming year include organizing events that bring a sense of community and celebrate the numerous accomplishments of MSC United coaches and players.
