Fundraising helps pay for the numerous costs involved in providing the best possible experience for your child. By offsetting some of these expenses, it also serves to reduce the monetary contributions that we are often forced to request from you.
This year, we have teamed with XtraMan Fundraising and we will be selling discount cards personalized just for MSC. They are the size of a credit card, customized with great local merchant discounts on the back of the card. Once the card is purchased, the discount card can be registered online at www.xtramanfundraising.com for even more discounts locally and nationwide. This is the best discount card in the industry, and I can assure you, this card can save you hundreds of dollars throughout the year. The cards will sell for $20 each, with your child retaining 50% of the cost of the card. This is not just a “discount card”, but this is a “discount membership card”. Make sure you log onto the web site yourself, so you understand all the benefits of this card. Once you explain how easy they are to use, what kind of discounts are available, who some of the merchants are, and how much the purchaser will save over a years time, this card sells itself.
Our fundraiser will begin on Monday, August 17, 2009 and will continue until September 11, 2009. All money will need to be turned in prior to September 11th. Your child will be asked to be responsible for selling a minimum number of 10 cards. Please monitor your child’s sales and strategies, and never let them go door-to-door or use methods of selling to people you don’t know unless they are supervised by you.
TIP #1: Compose a blanket email to all your family and friends nationwide that are in your contact list. Refer them to the website and let them search for all the discounts offered in their local area.
MSC will also provide a couple of incentives for all our children's hard work. (We don't want to be accused of breaking the child labor laws.) MSC will award the Top Sales Person a $150 VISA gift card, and acknowledgement of their achievement, by posting their picture on our MSC web site. A minimum of 20 cards must be sold to qualify you for this prize. And, for the Top Selling MSC Team, $250 CASH towards whatever your team wants, or needs to have this money applied to. And, of course, your team picture on the MSC web site. To qualify for this prize, your team must sell a minimum of 60 cards. I will also have another special incentive for the team that has the most creative and fun approach in selling these cards. So, be assured that I will be listening and watching everyone very closely during this time.
TIP #2: Maybe, if your coach wants to be creative and motivate the team, you can suggest if your team wins, he'll coach a tournament game in a clown suit? Have the kids get in on this action. Make it fun for everyone involved.
TIP #3: Know your product.
TIP#4: Get motivated & excited. Let's face it, when it comes to selling discount cards, the better the discounts, the easier they are to sell - and that's a fact. So, if I may recommend a suggestion, be the first one to buy a card, see all the discounts and savings you’re about to experience over the course of the next year, and then get motivated & excited. Because, how many fundraisers have you or your child participated in that actually made YOU money and saved YOU money too?
