U.S. Women's National Team Member
Lindsay Tarpley Visits MSC

On Thursday, February 21, U.S. Women's National Team member Lindsay Tarpley visited the Youth Developmental League teams at Harmony Park where she met with future MSC stars and conducted practice sessions. The kids had a blast while she played games with them and also taught some of her moves. She also spent some time talking to both kids and their parents while signing soon to be cherished autographs.

Lindsay Tarpley is a highly regarded player for the current U.S. Women's National Team, one of the best women's team in the history of the sport. She has won awards such as the Bronze Boot for third most goals scored in the FIFA World Championship and the Chevrolet best young soccer player of the year in 2002. Hailing from Kalamazoo, Michigan she attended the University of North Carolina where she made 59 goals and 59 assists during her career there and where they retired her number 25 in 2006. Her web site, www.lindsaytarpley.com, gives more details...

“A forward during her highly successful youth National Team career, she has played mostly in the midfield for the full Women’s National Team… By the age of 21, she had scored two of the most important goals in U.S. soccer history, the first when she pounded in a rebound of her own shot in the championship game of the 2002 FIFA U-19 World Championship, giving the USA a dramatic 1-0 sudden death overtime victory over host Canada and the first-ever world title for youth women… The second came in the 2004 Olympic gold medal game off a blast from 25-yards out into the lower left corner for the game’s first score…

After the Youth Developmental League, Lindsay was whisked away to the fields at Quail Run where she held practice sessions with the U8, U9 and U10 teams and conduct a Q&A with the U13 and U17 teams. While there, she also received essays about her from the U9 girls team and a personalized MSC training jacket, and of course, more photos and autographs.

Later this week, Lindsay is headed to southern Portugal with the rest of the National Team where they will be playing in the Algarve Cup on March 5-12. All the players, coaches and parents at MSC wish to thank Lindsay for her time and wish her good luck in Portugal.

Welcome to MSC United!

we are dedicated to developing top rated soccer teams at high levels of competition, and preparing individual players for high school and collegiate competition.

MSC United is structured like a school, with basic knowledge and skills taught at each division. Our ultimate goal is that all teams are competitive in nature. To accomplish this goal the club sponsors a developmental/recreational program (the MSC Youth Soccer League MYSL). Winning through competitive spirit and sportsmanship is important, however, improving the soccer skills of all participants (both coaches and players) is the basic club goal.
